Built a compact rolling-bearing fault detector end to end: engineered time-domain features, trained a shallow decision tree on training bearings only, and evaluated it on held-out healthy and faulty bearings with reported catch-rate and false-alarm rate. The candidate also defended an alarm threshold with explicit cost trade-offs and wrote a maintenance memo that translated the result into operational terms.
