Built an end-to-end beginner SOC incident response workflow: triaged a phishing intrusion, identified anomalous sign-ins and IoCs from logs, mapped events to the cyber kill chain, and chose a sound containment sequence. Also drafted a GDPR Article 33-style breach notification and justified a high-impact control for the Continental case using public facts about initial access and exfiltration.

What stood out6
- Correctly identified the phishing email as malicious and caught 3 of 4 critical red flags with no false positives.
- Flagged all 5 anomalous auth rows and explicitly caught the impossible-travel sign-in.
- Sequenced containment sensibly by isolating the host before disabling the account and blocking IoCs.
- Chose application control as the single highest-leverage control for the Continental case and tied it to initial access reduction.
- Leakage-Free Incident Triage
- Evidence-Based Log Investigation
